The improved quality of sound reducion of the doors always enhances privacy, as a quiet room is certainly an additional point of luxury nowadays.
If wished, a large share of our interior doors can be ordered soundproof. As soundproof doors weigh more, they also require more massive hinges, differing from the standard hinges of ordinary doors by both their looks and their finishing. This is why we recommend using either concealed hinges or soundproof door hinges for both door types in this case.
The lab-tested sound insulation value of our interior doors with 40mm door-leaf is Rw33dB or Rw37dB. For the doors with glazed window, the sound insulation value is lower by a few decibels.
Instead of the standard threshold (NB! with black sealing) , an automatic threshold can be used as extra option, leaving the floor flush but still ensuring sound insulation.
If the door is intended to provide for air exchange between adjacent rooms then we can offer an optional extra of a sound-proof ventilation profile mounting at the top of the door-leaf and having the sound insulation value of Rw28dB (can be installed only to straight-edged doors) or a an acoustic door grille for transit ventilation mounted inside the door-leaf nd having the sound insulation value of Rw32dB.

Fire and soundproof doors are used as exterior doors of hotel rooms and apartments and as separating doors for fire compartments. Our fire doors have successfully passed the sound and fireproof tests and smoke resistance test according to standard EN 13501-2, class Sa, Sm.
The share of glass surfaces in fire doors is constantly increasing and therefore it is also possible to order doors with different size of fireproof glasses. According to the valid certificate, the maximum height of doors is 2.4 m and the width up to 1.2 m (indoors).
As the result of tests, we can also equip fire doors with peepholes, which correspond to the certain requirements, mechanical doorbells located inside the door sheet and a retractable doorsill seals.
Hidden door closers have also become increasingly popular in the doors of hotel rooms and other projects, which is why we have tested the closing capacity of the doors equipped with hidden door closers (50 thousand times), their fire and soundproof qualities as well as smoke resistance. According to the issued certificate, the maximum height of doors is 2.4 m and the width up to 1.2 m.

The selection of veneer is also virtually unlimited, since in addition to natural veneers, there is also a variety of artificial veneers available on the market, which are based on natural wood and the surface structures of which can be very intriguing.

Laminated doors are intended for actively used rooms, e.g., classrooms in schoolhouses, kindergartens, public toilets, offices, etc. High pressure laminate used for manufacturing the doors can tolerate hits and wear and it is available in a variety of different colors and patterns. The edge of the door leaf may be made of painted solid wood in a suitable colour, varnished hard precious wood or partially covered with stainless sheet metal.
Door frames can be painted, veneered or partially covered with stainless steel sheet metal. Frames covered with stainless steel sheet metal are suitable above all for doors which are used for transporting items which may get into contact with the door frame and damage it. Such doors are, for instance, the ward doors in hospitals and medical institutions.
Painted , veneered or laminated flush wet room doors or wet room doors of FÖRBY or SVIBY models maintain their stability even in moist rooms and rooms with variable humidity. A door must always be installed in the way that the door frame would be at least 10 mm above the floor surface or doorsill.
A doorsill (optional accessory) is covered with stainless steel sheet metal. It is installed under the door frame and it must be attached to the floor independently.
